You’ve probably been told your child needs a 16\u201d wheelsize, But what does that actually mean?<\/span><\/p>

Unlike adult bikes, often children’s bikes are sized by <\/span>wheel diameter<\/b>, not by the frame size. So when you hear someone talk about a <\/span>12″<\/b>, <\/span>16″<\/b> or <\/span>24″<\/b> bike, they’re referring to the size of the wheels rather than the overall size of the bike.<\/span><\/p>

While wheel size gives us a great starting point, it’s only part of the story.<\/span><\/p>

Every child grows differently. Two children of the same age might be completely different heights, have different leg lengths and varying levels of confidence on a bike.
