  3. Trek 2017 Domane SL 6 Disc Review

2017 is already shaping up to be a great year for Trek. Here we take a look at the new Domane SL6 Disc.

    About the Bike

The Domane is the name given to Trek's endurance range. Designed to tackle the cobbles of the Paris-Roubaix, the Domane features Trek's  patented ISO-Speed de-coupler, located between the seat tube and the top tube. ISO-Speed gives greater compliance over rough terrain without loss of stiffness and power transfer.

  4. The Magnificent Eight Yorkshire Reliability Rides 2017

Reliability Rides – what to expect…

The reliability ride is traditionally a test of a cyclist’s reliability and that of their bike coming out of the winter period. The emphasis is on fitness, self-reliance and navigational skills, although they are also used by competitive cyclists for training ahead of the racing season.

  5. Review - Whyte 2017 T-130 S

There are so many trail bikes out there in the market place, that it’s almost mind-blowing to know which one to buy. Steep geometry, slack geometry, long and low, short and on earth does the average rider know what suits? It’s a minefield where the price can be extremely high. Thankfully for the UK based riders though, there’s a great new set of wheels to choose, designed by our very own UK based frame builders at Whyte.

These guys ride our trails and know what’s required, and it all comes in the well thought out shape of the Whyte T-130S full suspension machine. It almost purrs as you approach the hills.

  6. Trek Domane ALR 5 - First Thoughts

It was time for a new winter bike this September, mostly to motivate me through the next few months. As ever I was quite the sceptic about trying discs on road. However, the surprise was a nice one.

It’s a comfortable ride over the longer distances thanks mostly to the isospeed decoupler and also clearance for 32mm tyres. Being able to fit a set of full SKS mudguards is a must, there simply isn’t a substitute when you are sat in the middle of a winter group ride. A trusty aluminium frame doesn’t mean it’s the lightest bike in the world, but definitely made me a little less precious over the first few rides.

  9. Spring MTB Demo Day

Saturday played host to our annual spring MTB Demo day. The weather held up and the day turned out to be a huge success, with three groups heading out only to come back with nothing but smiles and a plethora of positive feedback. The 6 mile loop on the Chevin gave riders the opportunity to sample the latest and greatest offerings from top brands Trek, Whyte and Haibike.
